Death
Across the silent corridors of the infirmary
I heard a gentle sob from the other end
Unknown to me who she was
Or where she lived
Yet, I was concerned by the way she act
Packed her things up with a gentle rub
On her face to clear the tears.
The man in white coat wrapped her tight
As if telling her it will soon be sunshine and rainbows
But all seems to be of vain for the little girl
She showed all signs of sorrow and grief
It was until the stretcher was rolled that i came back to sense.
Yes, she lost her most precious one
Her mother was there lying senseless
No respond to the girl who calls her out
"Amma", she cried and cried
Begging her hearts out for even just a nod
But no, the body laid there flat.
The silent corridor was filled with cries
The walls seems colder than the other nights
They soon rolled her away
Swiftly across the hall
And the cries fade away
As the stretcher was rolled further away into the halls.
Reading this poem whilst a weak heart summon unsought tears.
